Bethesda's newest CVS Pharmacy to close

The newest CVS Pharmacy in downtown Bethesda may also be the next to close. Customers having prescriptions filled at the 7235 Wisconsin Avenue store this week report they are being told to move their prescriptions elsewhere, as CVS has decided to close this location next month. The store opened in the former PNC Bank building in December 2022. It recently closed temporarily due to a water main break in January.

Last hired, first fired. That didn't take long.

The most posh CVS in the county with old bank atmosphere. Back when banks actually had architecture.

That was my secret pharmacy. Maybe too closely held. Not many found out about it clearly. Really a shame because every, other CVS location in the area, and there are many, are extremely busy at least at the pharmacy counter. Hopefully we can Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) and there won't be 10 people in line ever time you need a prescription.

Beautiful building (legacy Riggs Bank) but terrible re-use, and terrible location for a "convenience" store.

Well that didn't go well at all. Time for another moribund bank branch.

I'm stunned it's closing. There are huge residential buildings going up across the street with people who will have prescription needs. Oh well.

Used to be a great iconic Riggs Bank.

Maybe having three CVS stores within a 1-mile radius was overkill? Do ya think?

Just like having 8 (or more?) Starbucks locations within the same perimeter -- that many stores couldn't continue to be supported.

Maybe America shour re-think all the drugs they take. Unbelievable.

1:02 - I can't disagree.

10:00 - I thought the same thing earlier. How about right across the street from this location? Huge building going up.

Once again Meemaw has to change where she picks up her R×, and don't blame this on the recent water main break.

Could a new Trustar bank be on the horizon?

What a dumb comment. Eat 1 less cheeseburger a week, and you wont have to stand in line. So now we need a national policy, led by a psychopath, and a tagline to be healthy? Didnt we always kinda know the terms? Just a weird comment, man, even for you.

Yeah you could basically see the other 2 CVSes if you stood on Wisconsin Ave and looked left and right, they were that close.

We need a CVS in Friendship Heights!

Bank, chain restaurant, gym, massage parlor. One of the above.

We absolutely do! I hope one reopens once the new apartment building in the former Mazza location is completed.

We have 5 grocery stores and a 6th coming all within a mile, so 3 CVSs seems about right.
