When they said the Starbucks at 7700 Norfolk Avenue in Bethesda was to undergo an extensive renovation, the coffee chain wasn't exaggerating. Yesterday, the construction crew pried off all of the individual letters that spelled "Starbucks Coffee" above the storefront. The store closed temporarily on January 12, 2025 for remodeling. It is currently anticipated to reopen for business on March 18.

Remodeled Bethesda Starbucks scheduled to reopen March 18, 2025

First of all, why did they rip the letters off the building if they're reopening? Second, the store was stripped down to the studs as seen recently driving by. They can fit out that space and be open be Tuesday? I'd like to see how they that that quick.
Unlikely, but entertaining to behold!
any chance they will expand up to the second floor?
BEWARE: as soon as the Starbucks is open again, there will be a literal STAMPEDE of High School Students from B C C every day at 11:30 when they are let out for lunch break... I had to walk "upstream" of the flow this week and boy was it a CHALLENGE!
Also somebody needs to do SOMETHING about the High Schoolers... they all dress like slobs, speak gibberish, and disrespect all semblance of harmony and order. Can we petition B C C to institute a "dress code" ?
9:27 - I wondered the same thing. That would be great. There is a sign posted indicating that that space above is available for lease.
You've experienced the unruly and ill-mannered BCC mob too? Well, prepare to be electronically kicked swiftly by some here as I was for daring to point out the blatant (and dangerous) disregard for simple crosswalk signals by many BCC students among many other grad scratching things recently witnessed by the student body.
Anyone remember the food court in the space at street level at the Metro station? That was the hub for BCC kids at lunch time and a hot spot for commuters in the morning and early evening. It was disappointing to see that use of the space eliminated.
Kids are kids ... think back when you were young, and I'm sure the adults said the same about you/us :-)
I made & drank my own caffeinated hot beverage from a square white Mr. Coffee© maker when I was in high school at B-CC in the '70's, but the "youth" of today has NO business being anywhere near caffeine because they are already spayed out enough!!!!
2:11 - Sadly, kids are not kids anymore I don't think. BCC had two incidents involving guns within 6 days. They had a huge meeting at BCC with MCPS leadership and quite a few teachers and faculty from the school didn't even bother to show up. That doesn't sound like kids in the old days or the BCC of my mother's era when they stood for the Pledge and a prayer daily in homeroom. Does it to you?
Over- sugared & over- caffeinated teens with guns is a very bad combination. *$ should card them all because you should be 18 years of age or over to consume copious amounts of kaffeine.

Our Republic which stood has crumbled...
You should listen to the song 'What is Truth' by Johnny Cash from back in 1971. That song is written about people like you.
ROTFLMAO! You a funny old man/woman.
That target date robs customers of being able to order GREEN festive drinks.
It's a great song but written long, long ago and time's have changed so much it's not as pertinent as it used to was.
