The first 100 people in line at The Berliner grand opening tonight, December 13, 2018 at 5:00 PM, will receive a free beer on the house. A scratch-made wurst and beer hall located at 3401 Water Street N.W. in Georgetown, The Berliner replaces Malmaison.
With the shortage of German restaurants in the area, any news on the German dining front is always of interest. The Berliner's menu will balance classic German offerings like bratwurst, schnitzel and homemade pretzels with beer cheese with modern Berlin's international flavors, including curry ketchup, kofta kebabs and falafel. The ketchup will soon be available for purchase.
Other features of the 4200 SF repurposed warehouse include stadium seating, graffiti murals, ping pong tables and 24 beers on tap. Best of all, several of those will be from small breweries in Germany.
The Berliner will be open Wednesday through Sunday from 5 to 11pm and on Fridays and Saturdays from 5pm to midnight.
