Water main breaks follow temperature changes in Bethesda (Video + Photos)

Some downtown Bethesda residents lost water yesterday, as at least two water main breaks impacted the neighborhood. Water was restored to Fairmont Plaza by early evening Monday, after a water main break under Wisconsin Avenue forced the WSSC to shut it off around 3:45 PM. The work had an obvious impact on commuter traffic, as well.

Another crew was working on Arlington Road at Elm Street. Both incidents came after a freezing period was followed by relatively warmer temperatures. Blustery conditions then hit the area in the late afternoon.
