China Pavilion was closed Tuesday night (Photos)

China Pavilion was closed during normal business hours last night at the Shops at Sumner Place shopping center in Bethesda. Two signs posted in the windows simply said, "CLOSED." However, tables and chairs remained inside the darkened restaurant. The restaurant's website is still up, and neither Yelp nor Google are yet labeling it as "closed." This is a popular restaurant with pretty heavy dine-in and carry-out traffic, so it seems unlikely they would go out of business. Stay tuned.

Why no window-peeping pix?

Any news about Kapnos Kouzina?

5:56: Just the same news I've been reporting for months - the Bethesda Row location is successful enough to remain open despite Mike Isabella's larger financial issues.

Isabella's stake in the restaurant is low. I don't think he'll be allowed to have anything to do with the continued operations. They're either about to go to court or just went to court recently. I haven;t been keeping up. :)

They closed when they saw your sorry ass approaching.

7:08: Let me save you some time - the article says the same thing I've been reporting for months: Kapnos is not closing at Bethesda Row.

No one is going to the Washingtonian for current news on Bethesda. I'm sorry.

Once again, over a dozen comments not one pertaining to the topic.

Just drove by and they're now clearly closed. Starting maybe 3 or 4 years ago I noticed a change in the food. Some entrees just seemed a little more slapped together than they used to be. Wonder if there was a change in chefs or day-to-day management. Those shops over on Sangamore have some of the easiest parking in the Bethesda area. Hope some place good replaces them.
