Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams will be giving away free scoops tonight, Monday, June 21, 2021 from 7:00 PM to closing at 4918 Elm Street at Bethesda Row. The company does this at its grand openings, and says it decided to host a "faux grand opening" bonanza at almost all of its stores tonight to celebrate the first day of summer. Excluded are its North Market, Columbus Commons, Nashville Farmers Market, Armitage and Sparkman Wharf shops.
With all of the pandemic-delayed June weddings filling up social media feeds these days, I have to tell you about the new, special flavor this month: Wedding Cake. It features buttercream ice cream with an icing-esque texture, real yellow cake pieces, and lemon curd and blackberry jam sauces.
