When Kenwood Station on River Road placed a banner alerting patrons that all stores are "open during construction" at the entrance earlier this year, many asked themselves, "What construction?" Now that project is well underway, as you can see in these photos. The "whole front" of Whole Foods has been ripped off above the entrance, and the entire canopy facade above all storefronts is getting an update.
It's unclear yet if we'll encounter any further archaeological finds from the shopping center structure's past as a Brunswick bowling alley in the 1970s. During a previous renovation, workers tearing up the floor inside Whole Foods discovered the original Brunswick bowling lanes still intact underneath the boards.

Worst strip mall in the county to get in and out of. WF is fine but many of the other places can go. It's way too tight in there. A bigger WF market would have been much better than what's there now.
I agree, 7:19. A parking lot from hell and the WF store is not much better to maneuver in.

That WF is old school now when compared to the newer models. I doubt this location will see much in the way of renovation given that the larger, and newer location at Friendship Heights is just a tad over a mile away.
A WF worker told me they are building an outdoor cafe area for the store, but otherwise they are "fixing the roof" and just upgrading the frontage.
