Starbucks officially closed on East-West Highway

The Starbucks at 4520 East-West Highway has been temporarily closed since last October. There were signs that, contrary to the chain's assertions, the closure was actually permanent - such as the store being removed from the Starbucks location database online at that time. However, the store's signs have now been removed, and the official Starbucks paper over the windows has been replaced with plain, brown paper. Most Starbucks fans in the neighborhood have already made the switch to the Starbucks at the Hyatt Regency Bethesda a block away.

That's ok, there are at least 3 more downtown. What I don't understand, which is a little off topic, is why there are several DD in the area but zero Krispy Kreme. I don't get that. Their coffee is very good and their donuts are far better.

@7:59 - I agree on the Krispy Kreme. Really wish there were more of them around here. They are far better than DD.

I noticed the paper came off of the old Starbucks location. Any idea if it’s being leased and by who?
