It appears the crew working on Woodmont Avenue was indeed correcting flawed paint on the recently-resurfaced section of the road between Norfolk Avenue and Old Georgetown Road, as one reader suggested last night. The men worked throughout the night, and just before dawn this morning, new directional arrows had been painted in the center turn lane. It's unclear if they've finished, or if they will return tonight.

Wondering why they couldn't have raised those clouds of dust at night instead of getting daytime traffic dirty? Just a burden that drivers have to shoulder rather than the taxpayer paying for night work, I'm guessing.
This road has gone from 4 lanes to 3 lanes to now 2 lanes, with 1/8th as much parking, and huge swaths of unused space
Total boondoggle of design
4 lane to 3 (incl. shared turn lane) has been best practice for years now. It's not a "design boondoggle" - it's a design that makes the road safer for all users while also making traffic flow smoother by removing turning vehicles and cyclists from the travel lanes.

I haven't seen the at all, but it the stop line has to be moved that's hardly an unfixable issue.
Such a poor design. In front of the hotel you have a single travel lane, and no parking or stopping lane --- in front of a hotel. The hotel has a small portico, so any airport shuttle bus/etc that needs to do a drop-off will have to block the travel lane, effectively impeding all traffic.
Absolutely asinine to not put some kind of stopping/drop-off lane in front of a hotel.
Airport shuttles fit in the hotel's porte cochere just fine. That's literally the point of it.
@8:09 If an airport shuttle is in the hotel's driveway, then no other vehicles can enter or pass. It's not that big. And no way a larger airport shuttle (Metrobus-size) will ever make it in there.
