The cold has finally become to much to bear for diners, even with portable heaters on the sidewalk. That means restaurants are packing up and storing their outdoor dining furniture around Bethesda Row and elsewhere. Suddenly there's a lot of room on these typically cramped sidewalks.

Wow these pictures really make you notice how crappy mixed concrete, brick, grates, etc. That sidewalk is so jacked up in design and layout.
Thanks for the update. I was about to make a reservation to eat outside at my fav Bethesda eatery. Now, I'll have to make alternate plans.
Thanks again for the valuable public service.
Next, can you please let us know when the holiday decorations come down. Then I'll know when to stop celebrating the holidays. That would be helpful since I can't look out the window and make my own decisions.
7:38AM doesn't get hyper-local.
As much as I dislike Dyer personally, I agree that 7:38am doesn't get hyper-local. :)
I'm so happy commenting is free - I would pay for the pleasure of saying how much i DESPISE THIS HORRIBLE MAN.
Dyer is evil - we all know it. Hide your kids - Hide your Wife.
His blog has some high points when it is simply news and not opinion though.
This is Hans Riemer's fault. Somehow. It must be.
Mr. Riemer is resting after solving our nightlife problems in downtown Bethesda. Even God rested on the seventh day.
I appreciate what the art in me would call Variations Within A Sidewalk. They invoke a sense (even if it may be a false sense) of history. It's fun to envision -- chronologically, based on appearance -- the visual evolution here. For streets are like people. Become like old friends. Faces change. So do sidewalks.
I'm 7:38. I get hyper-local [sic]. But shouldn't it also be relevant? How on Dyer's green earth is it useful (or even interesting for that matter) that restaurants have stowed away their seating?
As soon as Dyer was out of range, the restaurant personnel came out of hiding and hastily reassembled their sidewalk furniture.
Does 12:08pm/7:38 troll Prince of Petworth too?
Ha if he/she does I would love to read it. But I highly doubt those blogs are written by sensitive highly opinionated closed minded folks such as Bobbo
One picture would have been enough. Seriously.

5:55: One picture could show all the blocks of Bethesda Row in a single shot? What is the model number of the magic camera that can do that? Do tell.
Robby obviously this commentor is fishing for you to respond with a just-as douchey response. Why humor him? Which you did. And he wins. Relax and let this dim crap go. Focus on the good posts!
Wrol - the proper response is:
"U mad, bro? LOL"
