BETHESDA SNOW UPDATE: ACCIDENTS ABOUND, TREE FALLS ON MASSACHUSETTS AVE.

High winds, ice and low temperatures continue to cause power outages and accidents across Bethesda.

Our current temperature is 12° F. Winds will continue to gust up to 60 MPH through 2:00 PM. The current wind chill advisory will be in place until 6:00 PM. We'll reach a high of 18° around mid-afternoon, and dive down to 3° by early Monday morning for a frigid commute.

Those temperatures continue to make driving hazardous. A multi-car collision in front of the Kenwood Country Club resulted in injuries after 10:00 this morning. Additional accidents were reported at Bradley Boulevard and Goldsboro Road, and at Connecticut Avenue and Bradley Lane.

A large tree has fallen on Massachusetts Avenue, temporarily blocking traffic between Sangamore Road and Goldsboro. Take MacArthur or River as a detour.
