WATER MAIN BREAK ON WISCASSET ROAD IN BETHESDA

The WSSC reports a 10" water main has broken along Wiscasset Road, in the Mohican Hills area of Bethesda. Water is flowing to Massachusetts Avenue, and the utility suggests drivers avoid the area.

A WSSC crew is on the scene, which is also close to Goldsboro Road. The 10" pipe is 87 years old, which means it was installed in 1928.

No, it means that it was installed in 1927 or 1928. Sometime after February 18, 1927 but before February 18, 1928.
