The Pallas is the standout of the two residential buildings from Phase 1 of construction at Federal Realty's Pike & Rose development. Its height allows for more panoramic views of Montgomery County and beyond than the relatively short PerSei apartments. There is also an impressive lobby design, with a throwback character to grand buildings of the past.

This makes me think of how awesome Westbard is going to look some day, after that crappy shopping center goes the way of Mid-Pike Plaza.

I don't believe 10:59 ever said it was. Just that many look forward to enjoying the improvements said developments will bring. An opinion, justly allowable as yours. :)
The leading lights of MoCo are moving into Pike & Rose.
Whereas the dim bulbs are stuck in Westbard.

Generic office buildings? Yep, they're super exciting all right.

In my opinion the improvement are nice new buildings instead of industrial old buildings.
Oh definitely what's planned is a huge improvement over what's there now in West Bard. It's odd the residents there are clinging to such ugly buildings and surroundings.
8:54/5:31: How is a new building an amenity? Most of the buildings you will be locked out of if you're not a resident. I think Friendship Heights would be more your speed. People who moved to the "Westbard" area did so for a suburban, low-density environment, not an urban downtown.
Not sure I said anything about amenities? Just that it's an improvement over what's there now. What's there now is ugly.
At one point or another Bethesda and Friendship Heights were low density too. So too shall Westbard and many other areas grow.
Bethesda and Friendship Heights are on top of Metro Stations. Westbard is not.
That's certainly true. I imagine if we look at growth across the country though we'll see spikes in most types of areas, not just urban metro accessible spots. Not everyone coming into the area wants to move to these locations. Maybe Westbard would be a good compromise of urban and suburban.
