Is it a buffet? We've come full circle back to Hot Shoppes!
So where are Dyer's usual complaints about restaurant and retail jobs?
It will be awful lonely to be open at 3AM on Bethesda Row. Just them and the bread bakers will have the lights on.
The menu is the same awful fake diner menu as Silver Diner. If they went back to their original menu it would be decent. This new fancy diner healthful menu does not cut it.
Let's hope this starts a trend of a nightime economy in Bethesda row. Task force be damned.
7:02: I think you're confusing the issues. Everyone wants restaurants, and restaurants create restaurant jobs. A separate question is, are restaurant and retail jobs the sector you base the entire county economy on, as opposed to high-wage aerospace, research, and defense firm jobs?
The first drawing looks like the old Roys on River Road.
I prefer the original Silver Diner. We had brunch Saturday, and the food was ordinary, the staff were trying but confusion reigned. The chef came over and listened to our complaints so maybe the food and service will improve. The apple pie could have been Mrs. Smith's from the super market. My Amish egg breakfast had no eggs - just some limp home fries with a pile of greasy onions on top. The decaf coffee was BAD. It was 2:30 and the lunch menu was not available.
