Strange art in downtown Bethesda (Photos)

Check out some of the strange artworks one will find when using the pedestrian walkway at the Solaire Bethesda construction site. Recognizable figures depicted include a potential future president, Hillary Clinton; past President George Washington; and actress Audrey Hepburn.

The luxury apartment building is going up on the former home of Eastham's Exxon, at 7100 Wisconsin Avenue.

That's neat. I hate graffiti but it's fun on the temporary structures.

This is still leaps and bounds better than the artwork on the Greenhill buildings.

I wish would have artists paint our utility boxes like in Ithaca, NY:

I agree, that's way better than the odd murals found on some of the Greenhill buildings; murals of the NYC skyline? Why would you put that on a building in the DC Metro area? At least the "Hillary Poster" is relevant to the area and our political culture.

Also the wall in the middle of the sidewalk on Fairmont. Ha what the heck is that for?

I love those, Andrew! For awhile, the boxes on Bradley went color. Looked to bright and happy.

Those are fun! Be careful though your link violates Dyer's comment policy

I heard it was to spite Bainbridge - dyer; do you know anything about that?

What Bethesda really needs is a statue of Jebediah Obediah Springfield.

Robert, do you have an update on that building where they painted the NYC skyline? It looked empty last time I drove by.

The one comment or kept insisting it was leased and the mural was appropriate to the theme. Haven't seen any work on the place in a while. What gives?

@4:44 Yeah I thought I read it was related to the tenant going in there. I wonder if they backed out when they heard it was a Greenhill property. That's the sign of doom for any new business.

@ 4:44 AM - That was probably Benny himself.

Were the pictures of Hillary Clinton defaced (mustaches, goatees, horns, pitchforks) before Dyer showed up to take pictures of them?
