Major drug bust at Bethesda shopping center

Updated - February 26 at 10:43 AM: Police have just confirmed the raid took place at Relaxed Nails and Spa.

A narcotics raid took place this past Tuesday, February 23, at Relaxed Nails and Spa in the Westwood Shopping Center on Westbard Avenue in Bethesda. Montgomery County Police are releasing few details on the operation at this time.

Witnesses report that both uniformed and undercover law enforcement officers were involved. A man was seen handcuffed in their custody outside the salon.

While I have obtained quite a bit of information about the incident from eyewitnesses and other sources, police are able to publicly confirm very few of those details at this juncture.

"The Montgomery County Department of Police, at the request of a federal law enforcement agency, assisted with the execution of search warrants in a narcotics distribution case," MCPD 2nd District Commander Captain David Falcinelli said Wednesday. He told me further details would be made public at the appropriate time in the future, and that the community should be assured there is no threat to public safety regarding this case.

This is a disgrace. They really need to bulldoze that eyesore and replace it with some progressive, upscale shopping that won't attract drug dealers.

Yeah this is terrible. Sign of the area.

The new shopping center better have a Tesla Supercharger spot!

Interesting. Wonder if this came from the scrutiny nail salons have been getting for human trafficking and prostitution.

7:41: It might have, but as I mentioned in the article, they were acting at the request of a federal agency.

It's why I cross draw carry when getting my nails done

11:11AM - just because he rebuffed your advances is no reason to come here and rant.

You should only capitalize a title when it refers to an actual agency, which is not the case with federal law enforcement agency.

Lot of happy endings go on in places like that too.

10:44: Apparently they also thought it was better to wholesale rip off my story and not credit me as the source.

What was the source? "More detailed"? They don't have details my story has. Beep beep beep. There goes the microwave again with my scoop reheated by another outlet.

12:55: You're correct. Thank you for catching that, and I will correct it.

Beep beep beep. Hahahaha.
Another 2 points for Dyer.

Replying to the first comment:

"Drug arrest at Walt Whitman HS, theft at Barnes and Noble + more - Bethesda crime update"

Guess they had better bulldoze those eyesores too.

4:15: I was the first to report it. They ripped off my story without citing me as the source. Their story doesn't even say what business it was. A second story hours later is not "breaking news", moron.

What makes you so sure that you were their source? Who was YOUR source?

6:02: Eyewitnesses and the 2nd District police commander. Several days work carefully putting the story together. This story wasn't out there until I published it. Then, mysteriously, there's a story later in the day from another outlet. Using the powers of ESP? Give me a break.
