Cordell-St. Elmo Garage 40 charging station installation update (Photos)

Here's a look at the progress on the installation of new electric vehicle charging stations in the Montgomery County Cordell-St. Elmo Public Parking Garage 40 at 4935 St. Elmo Avenue in downtown Bethesda. Poles went in a little less than a week ago. As of yesterday, components of the charging units themselves were being installed atop the poles. There will be a fee to charge your EV at these stations.

Alining with Elrich's "Electrify Everything" proposal during October's "Energy Action Month" should be the increase in COAL production because along with Natural Gas, this is how over half of electricity is produced in this area. Without Calvert Cliffs we would need another 35% increase in coal/NG.

EV's should have stickers on them saying "This Car Powered By Coal/Natural Gas" and forced to pay the road tax their avoiding now.

Where are these located? Up front, by the handicapped spots? If so, why give them priority?

Little by little, even the populace of leftist MoCo is seeing EV's for what they truly are - a boondoggle and another symbol dividing our people. I still haven't heard a cogent thought about 1. disposal of the used batteries and components and 2. Where oh where will we dig up millions of acres of Mother Earth to obtain the Lithium? It surely won't be in our own back yard. Someone mentioned Chile. Yeah that's sound fair, let's go dig up Chile. smh.

Reminder that even MoCo itself admits that it will never ever cover the costs of installing these subsidized Tesla fuel stations with charging user fees.

Just robbing from the working class to benefit the wealthy libs who want to virtue signal.

The U.S. has a source for large amounts of lithium. Also Australia has an abundant supply.
There is no shortage of lithium for batteries. Follow link below for more information about domestic lithium source.

@5:45 So what do you propose for Nickel and Cobalt? Also, all three are currently recovered via strip mines. Google what that does to the environment. Guess what else, as previous posters have stated, electricity doesn't magically appear in wall sockets so feel free to tell the truth and admit your EV is powered by fossil fuels namely Coal & Natural Gas.

5:45 is so obtuse he/she thinks the greenies will allow mining in the US. How quaint. Instead, they will offshore our pollution and mining, just like they have been doing, and feel smug about it.
