And all this time, the other local website with the glossy magazine has reported very little of this horrific crime pattern that has never been seen to this extent in recent memory anyway. I know first hand from MoCo officers who were hanging in there post Covid and thru the anti-police movement that many are now counting the hours until they retire. Why doesn't anyone report on the current recruiting class? I hear that it's under 40. Think about that if true or close to that number. And while you're at it, consider what is likely to happen which is clueless and dangerous Marc Elrich will walk right into reelection. And then my friends, we're really in trouble.

Just more data points exposing democrats failure to govern as they only seek to rule.

7:30 is correct as not only does the glossy magazine ignore crime, the liberal apologists are out in force making excuses for bad behavior they encouraged.

no comment at all from liberals. Except of course "Crime is low in MoCo. If you don't want your car stolen or house robbed, just lock your doors." Tell that to Kensington Strosnider's whose side glass door was smashed and then robbed of 9 expensive chainsaws one Thursday night at 3 am last month. Or the mailman robbed at gunpoint at Vabin John mall at 3 pm LAST WEEK.
Liberals and the Left need this laid at their feet. Yes, those who vote Democrat vote for Leftists and Leftism.

@ 655x2 I'll give it a whirl for you. I don't think it's surprising that coming out of the worst pandemic in a hundred years folks are acting differently. We just had a crook for a POTUS for 4 years. I hope it's quirk in our national history.
I don't think that the right answer is more guns on our streets. Give me the left answer. Let's get serious about gun control by restricting the manufacturing of new guns! IF we stop making them, then crooks will value them too much to use/lose.
Crime is a problem. I won't vote because of it this year. I'm voting based on my body and my democracy.

Shanel - Tht only thing that makes any sense in what you posted is what you said regarding the pandemic. And who is largely responsible for the lockdowns that crippled tht economy and ruined the education of our youth? I think you know. So schools and churches were shuttered yet strip clubs and Costco were allowed to stay open the entire time. I'm convinced that the total shutdown and lockdown is the direct result of what we're seeing now. No one will say that and you'll never hear or read in a mainstream outlet this theory. But ultimately this will be proven correct.

@5:21 So the crook is the one who couldn't be bought by China, Ukraine, Russia and domestic special interests along with witness testimony plus a laptop full of information kept under wraps by a corrupt DOJ. Got it

shanel Your not voting is a critical error during this election cycle, it lets the loud mouth opposition party shout, see we told you they have no answers to anything, they won't even vote this time. Not voting is giving in to them, it is your obligation to solving the problem by voting. Don't let either force, the criminal or the ignorant, deterrer you.

10:15 is voting for more of the same as ignorance is bliss. Elrich is counting on it.

My mom and dad who both watch tv from different rooms which blare so loud due to hard of hearing were home invaded last year in Bethesda
They don’t have iPads etc much of any electronic value because in their 80s and prefer landline and no smart tv

So the person doing this
Hardworking middle class but in a nicer area of Bethesda bc they moved there in 60s before housing skyrocketed
There were cows down the block when we moved in

Point of story
The people house invading 2 elderly people who upon entry realized pickings slim knew they were home
Didn’t care
So surmise was just to terrorize 2elderly white people

Keep voting democrat
Before last year not even a garbage can was stolen from this house

These people criminals are freaking soulless animals

Think of your children and parents when you vote
I hate the politicians who hav3 allowed Bethesda to become this

By the way, the knife-wielding suspect in this incident was quickly caught by Metro transit police after he fled to the subway following the altercation.

Walked into the Bethesda Row Apple Store yesterday. There was a Montgomery County Police Car parked out front and a police officer standing inside in the front corner keeping an eye on things. The store and nearby area was safer because of that. Anyone who doesn't believe that is in denial of reality.

The Montgomery County Police Force needs to be at least doubled in size so that police can be conspicuously and permanently stationed to patrol at highly traffic commercial areas that are targets of criminals like Bethesda Row. One of you leftists is going to have to explain to me why you're against that. Make it make sense.

@5:33 The cop is doing that on their own time if they are posted at the store. They get paid for it too -- more power to them. Apple can afford to hire their own off-duty cops, most businesses cannot.

The election is next week. I voted for Sullivan, and against every incumbent on the County Council and MCPS school board.

"so that police can be conspicuously and permanently stationed to patrol at highly traffic commercial areas that are targets of criminals like Bethesda Row."

The only thing I will say to that is -Pre Covid - the striking difference between downtown Silver Spring and Bethesda - there was a Cop on almost every corner in SS, and NONE to be seen in Bethesda. Now, we need them in Bethesda, and you can't pay me to go to SS.
Gettin' bad out there, as those who see clearly can attest.

Anonymous said...

@1:33pm, so there was a cop on every corner in SS, and now it's so bad you wouldn't go there? Kinda sounds like you just made the case that flooding the streets with cops (and citizen vigilantes) really doesn't do a thing. Good work disproving your own point.

@8:24 is directly responsible for why the "glossy magazine" doesn't allow comments anymore. You'd have to wonder why a private business would allow a person like @8:24 to march into their virtual lobby and spew hateful, inaccurate, and always negative nonsense at the top of their lungs. They got tired of you, and didn't want to be your stage. Go figure. @8:24 is proven wrong, time after time, but they just keep talking. Ad nauseum. The only thing that was good about @8:24 is that they spawned a really funny response poster called @8:24'smom. He owned you constantly, that was fun.

6:31 - Talk about comical. Absolutely without merit but comical. One person with a view different from the pack took down the entire comment feature of a local media company with an active website and magazine? So, no other commenters there, who had differing views also, contributed to the demise? No comments from the group think crowd, who often broke the rules hurling vitriolic attacks, were at fault? I see. I'm glad you're here but I'm afraid you'll be upset with what's posted as the majority are not part of the Left, group think crowd here. Robert runs a great blog site. Be well.

@3:41 PM: Nice bad faith argument there. Having more police on the street is only one part of addressing the issue. New leadership in Montgomery County is needed to put a stop to the revolving door of criminals that are dumped back on the street.

As for your derision of legal conceal carriers, which you call "citizen vigilantes", people will take legal measures to protect themselves if County Leadership doesn't. This phenomenon should be obvious to you, but you're either deliberately ignoring it or you just don't understand it. I conceal carry because of people like you who don't take the steps necessary to support effective measures on crime.

These effective steps include allowing the police to use effective gun control methods. I bet you don't support Stop and Frisk like I do. Stop and Frisk is an effective gun control measure used by police that gets illegal guns out of the hands of criminals on the street, which is why you don't support it. You'd rather take my legally carried gun away and call me a vigilante.

@6:31 PM: Are your positions so weak that they can't be subject to challenge in your bubble?

JAC = MAGA Your true colors are on full display.

So funny that 8:21 uses MAGA as an insult while their side is busy burning the entire country down while telling everyone they're not responsible.

The mental crisis is real thinking things are better now than two years ago.

@8:21 AM: I prefer being referred to as Mega Maga myself. Thanks!
