Bethesda construction update: 7900 Wisconsin Avenue (Photos)

The first Tyvek-covered walls are being added to JBG Smith's 7900 Wisconsin Avenue mixed-use development in downtown Bethesda. These are primarily in the section of the building on Woodmont Avenue so far.

Robbie, that's not how it works. You pay ALL of the local property tax bill yourself, regardless of the federal income tax deduction, in Year A. Then in the spring of Year B, when you file your federal income tax return for Year A, you get a deduction from your income, if you itemize.

What I've actually said is that 20+ people voting for a random GOP candidate who never left home during the campaign at dozens of precincts across the county, while those same 20+ people did NOT vote for me in those same dozens of precincts, strongly suggests voter fraud and/or tampering with the voting machines.

5:45: No kidding, and you only got that deduction because you paid the property tax. Therefore, you got some money back as a result of paying the draconian MoCo property tax. Now you can't deduct as much for it, and you therefore ended up paying more property tax than you did last year. Meanwhile, states like TN and OK where taxes are lower stopped subsidizing your high property taxes.

Um, no. You still don't understand how it works. You pay the same amount of property tax. You just pay more (or less) federal income tax because of the deduction (or lack of it).

5:52: Nope, Saul. I clearly stated the anomalous pattern. If your IQ was greater than your belt size, you would have easily understood how that is different from "people not voting for me," and it can be clearly seen in the precinct results available for public review right now.

5:54: No, dummy - Anyone with a 3rd grade reading level or above can clearly understand from my explanation that the federal income tax change left those with high property taxes with less cash than the year before, because they couldn't take the previous deduction.

Nope, you're combining local property with national income tax. And itemized deductions reduce your "taxable income," so it's not a dollar for dollar "tax" thing.
And you completely leave out all the folks who are benefiting from the higher standard deduction.
If fact, you could even say that those of us getting our itemized tax limited are subsidizing those taking advantage of the higher standard deduction.

I'd love to hang out and discuss taxes but 1) You just don't understand how numbers work. That's on full display in any of your articles involving money or percentages or calculations or even theory. 2) There are personal property tax extensions, income tax extensions, and income tax returns that are calling my name. (That would be Anna, for those still in denial)

Nope, you're wrong (and way off-topic of this article) under any name. Classic Saul Alinsky tactic to keep repeating the same falsehood to make me respond over and over again. My readers are smart enough to get it the first time, and smart enough to see your weird manipulation to claim I said something I never said.

Property owners not only paid higher property taxes each year thanks to the Council raising them each year, but with the federal tax change now can no longer take the same deduction. THEY HAVE LOST MONEY AS A RESULT, and have paid out more in taxes than they would have before the change, and the cause is the draconian high property tax rate set by the Council.

You claim to be some kind of tax specialist, but you would lose your professional license if you made the false statements you have made above. I certainly wouldn't trust someone for advice who disputes the obvious fact that homeowners are now feeling the fuller impact of our draconian property tax rate after the federal deduction change.
