The 20' Ned Smyth mosaic column has returned to the revamped plaza at Bethesda Place at 7700 Wisconsin Avenue. What at first glance appears to be a fusion of a Christmas tree, a pineapple and a totem pole, was required to be retained even as many other elements of the plaza were changed. There's never been a better time to dine outside at The Original Pancake House!

I wish they would add back the former tensile fabric structure over the band shell, from the Discovery Channel days.
