The gas pumps are still fenced off at the Exxon station at 7975 Old Georgetown Road in downtown Bethesda, as a firm continues working on the underground fuel tanks. However, the gas station's convenience store is open. You can see a view of what's under a section of the concrete in the photos below - kind of like those cutaway pictures in children's books. While it might seem odd to operate the store while the station appears closed to people driving past, I can imagine that nearby workers and residents might still find it a convenient walk, and these gas station stores sometimes have items you can't find elsewhere.

No, what actually seemed odd about their business model was selling gas for a dollar a gallon more than any other local station, thus ensuring that the only customers were people from Potomac who were about to run out of gas.
I assume that this is related to the work on the Exxon station in Wildwood - probably the same owner - which is next to the abortion gulag?
Let's not forget that the worker in the convenience store would be unemployed if the station owner closed entirely until the upgrades are made.

Selling gas is old school. Get a carwash and a few vacuums. Teslas like to be clean around here. Instead of one clerk you could be employing 10 directors of carwash operations. Front, middle and back section employees all paying taxes and buying your food and drink for lunch. You'll retire early, and if you do it right, you won't pollute our Earth much. We should allow that type of business there. Would that mess up traffic more than a bike lane?
