Montgomery County police responded to a report of an armed carjacking in Bethesda early Thursday morning, March 23, 2023. The carjacking was reported in the 4600 block of Sangamore Road at 5:00 AM Thursday. That is a typically quiet area in the Sumner neighborhood, near The Shops at Sumner Place, the Sumner Highlands apartments, and the Intelligence Community Campus.

And yet another incident in the Hillmead neighborhood. Attempted break in at 11pm. Owners heard attempted break in thru basement door, threw the yard lights on and called 911. All front and back yard lighting needs to be on all night. Well lit properties don't get hit as much as very dark ones. Think about it

'Senseless' doesn't begin to describe such crime, nor does 'senseless' remotely capture the affront: this is much more than 'for the money or valuables,' it's about 'sharing' their 'unfair urban plight' with the 'protected.'
Hang on because the democrats in Annapolis have plans to unleash more criminals in the name of DEI.

@10:46 AM - Lights on all night! I'd hate to be your neighbor, not a peaceful moment without the glare of spotlights shinning in my windows. There is such a thing as motion detectors, which can light up your property at the movement of a flea. Your electric bill would thank you.

Optimally we really don't need these nice houses and big yards and safe places really anyhow.
8:33 - A little research goes a long way. Security experts uniformly recommended yard lightning all night. I've lived in my neighborhood for over 20 years and have lights on all sides and never a complaint or suggestion to turn down.
@ 4:26, exactly. use landscaping lighting and simple cameras at your exterior entrances. Not a big cost, the lighting is low voltage and it also looks really nice. win all around.
