Regency Centers issued a brief statement this afternoon regarding the realignment of Westbard Avenue in Bethesda, and the related street closures that are in place at this time. It included an image of what the reconfigured roads of Westbard and Ridgefield Road will look like when the work is completed, although if you have seen renderings earlier in the process, it will already be familiar to you.
"As work continues for the County Sector Plan's required road realignment, we wanted to provide a future look at the finished intersections," the statement said. "Specifically, at the intersection of Westbard Ave, Ridgefield Rd, and River Rd. At completion, all temporary closures will be removed and full access to all streets will be reopened. We greatly appreciate your patience as we perform the required Sector Plan work, and will provide more updates as efforts progress."
Regency Centers is the property owner and developer of the Westbard Square development, on 22 acres along Ridgefield Road, River Road and Westbard Avenue. The area shown in dark green is the portion that will be on the site of the Westwood Shopping Center.
