Violent crimes such as armed carjackings, assaults, and robberies continue to plague Montgomery County, in all areas and at all hours. Montgomery County announced today that it will be offering low-cost self-defense courses for women this month and next, classes that will include "training on risk, crime awareness and prevention. Participants will be given a 13-piece student folio with information on how to reduce the risk of exposure to violence and how to escape violence. Participants also will learn some physical aspects of self-defense."
The courses will cost $12, and will be offered through the Montgomery County Commission for Women. You must pre-register to participate, and classes will have to fill up with at least 10 participants to be held. Teenage girls aged 13-17 are welcome to register, but must be accompanied by an adult, the County said in its announcement. Register online now and choose your location; the classes will be held at Montgomery County public libraries. All locations are in the East County or Germantown area.
The Commission for Women will not offer a course for men, but advises that such a course is available. Men are directed to call 240-777-8300 for information about that separate class.

Courses like this have been offered for as long as I can remember. It has nothing to do with Elrich, obviously.
Ehrlich has everything to do with it! If we had a strong police force as before; this would not be happening.
So while Elrich and the Council try banning legal concealed carry, their solution is to offer self defense against criminals who carry and use illegal firearms.

Blaming Bob Ehrlich for MCPD's failings makes about as much sense as blaming Marc Elrich.
How's that vote working out for you about now? Armed car jacking in peaceful and very nice Hillmead in Bethesda, broad daylight car jacking outside Wheaton Costco where many of us frequent, open air shooting gallery and drivebys in Silver Spring seemingly weekly, coupled with roads being destroyed across the area by bike lanes few if any use and the list goes on and on. Yeah, the black guy would have been worse. Uh-huh. All that equity and diversity talk is really Bull S isn't it? Sully Reardon, though black himself, never had a chance cause foolish people pull the same lever time and time again. Have an R next to your name and you're as good as gone. Well, I guess no one can expect different results then.

It'd very possible that the poster above who cited Ehrlich above really meant Elrich! I know that I too have to make a conscious effort to distinguish when typing.
Additionally, I would not be surprised that some percentage of voters, in both recent cycles may have actually thought they were voting for Ehrlich and 'pulled the lever' in error.
Even constant lessons in ''cause and effect" and "nature trumps nurture" have no effect on the wokelib mindset. Come on, Man just look around! I'm hoping we're getting to 'peak woke' but it's gonna be a long slog to fix all the damage now.

4:26 it's probably diminishing returns on trying to get you up to speed on 'cause and effect,' but dontcha think the "labor shortage" you cite as an excuse might just be caused by bad policy and possibly criminal enterprise revolving around manufactured CV hysteria, not to mention the likely hood that CV is manufactured itself? Regardless, do you think that the universal police morale issues shared by the 15, or so, democratic run high crime 'failed ' cities, might just make hiring and retention of competent police *in these Soros manipulated* districts even more difficult?

It's worth mentioning that the Department is currently about 10% below its authorized sworn complement of officers, so that ratio is even worse.
