Ruta Ukrainian Restaurant has opened at 4862 Cordell Avenue in Bethesda. The restaurant will be open regular hours, but is currently not serving alcohol, as it has not received its liquor license from Montgomery County yet. Ruta expects to have the license in early September. This is Ruta's second Washington, D.C.-area location. To make reservations, call 240-316-1257.

The interior looks plush, maybe too nice for that neighborhood.

The restaurant is lovely, with many hand painted decorations, but it is not expensive — just pretty.
