Nail salon leases dance studio space in downtown Bethesda

The old second-floor home of Dance Bethesda at 8227 Woodmont Avenue has a new tenant. Nail Up, a nail salon, has leased the space. It is directly above The Shop hair salon. They've already put up some Coming Soon signage in the windows.

Will it have a massage parlor in back?

This building is so small I'm not sure there is a back.

These places are always fronts for some illegal activity or another.

Yes and soon to be closing. Dumbest idea for a baskery I've ever heard.

11:53: Ha, it was being presented as though the business was just discovered, and it neglected to mention the asbestos problem. #FakeNews

How funny. Our blogger deletes the post but refers to it.

HAHAHAHAA DYER I TOTALLY AGREE!

oh wait i dont know what i agree with since you deleted the comment you were referring to....

I will be thankful when Robert Dyer is run out of town by a pitchfork carrying mob. Every day he weakens us more....

Robert Dyer said...

8:48: If there's any mob, it will be headed to the County Council building, where residents are always protesting against our out-of-control Council these days.

Headline in today's Post:

"Meet the ponytailed dropout who's blocking devwlopment projects across the city."

Robert Dyer said...

3:46: Considering I'm not a dropout, but graduated Cum Laude, I'm an even more formidable opponent. That's why the Post can't even mention my name in the paper.

Butthead said...

Dyer said "cum".

LOL

No report on the little spat between Leventhal and Berliner yesterday?

Robert Dyer said...

5:17: Can't imagine a more boring topic. Not exactly a "What year is it?!"-worthy exchange.

"That's why the Post can't even mention my name in the paper."

Why would the Post mention a brash, disrespectful, alt-right, unqualified, long-shot opponent anyway?

Robert Dyer said...

7:02: How am I "unqualified?" George Leventhal's qualification was a bachelor's degree and serving on the Democratic Central Committee. I have a bachlelor's degree, and served on the Republican Central Committee. Plus I've been an activist in the community for many, many years, and am very knowledgeable on the issues before the Council.

"Long-shot" - sounds familiar. Like a news headline.

What were your accomplishments when you served on the Republican Central Committee?

"That's why the Post can't even mention my name in the paper."

You know darn well that's not true. Why do it? Why lie?

"Long shot candidate..."
Here we go again. "Anonymous" forgot the Weekend at Bernie's reference!

7:34 AM Actually, it's quite provable again and again. Just recently they refused to reference Dyer's scoop on Marriott/Tastee.

Anna, you need to get back to work and stop trolling Dyer here. It's not productive and is deeply embarrassing for you. You sound unhinged.

Anna Van Horn said...

Aw, Tim. Thanks for your concern. I work for myself, so my hours are my own. I've spent much of the day on the patio. Don't worry, I'm using sun-screen.

Not everyone thinks that holding people accountable for their words is embarrassing.

Enjoy your day.

Robert Dyer said...

7:34: Agree with 8:22 that the all-day, all-night trolling comes off as unhinged, or as paid troll.

As for the Post, it is true. Numerous bi-annual articles about "Bethesda is changing," but never referencing the guy who has lived through and reports on all the changes? Come on. That's like reporting on changes in Petworth in 2010 without quoting the Prince of Petworth.

Robert McCartney wrote several articles in which he talked about the need for a new Potomac River crossing. He stated that no politician on the Maryland side of the river is advocating for one. Yet he has received numerous press releases from me during my campaigns about this very issue being my top priority.

Tastee Diner? I broke the story. Since when does the Post not credit the outlet that broke a story, and instead link to articles that plagiarized my scoop without citing me as the source?

There is a ban from the top on mentioning me in the Washington Post (and Washingtonian, too). What needs to be uncovered is, why?

Anonymous said...

Do you honestly think that at The Washington Post there is a "ban from the top" on mentioning you?

Robert Dyer said...

9:30: Given that their current approach is like reporting on every detail of Tesla without mentioning Elon Musk, I'd say...hell, yeah there's a ban on mentioning me in the Post.

Anonymous said...

wow. just wow.

Anna Van Horn said...

9:17AM - Don't be silly. You're exaggerating again. I don't post all-day, all-night. I get work done after dinner and don't get up until 4:30-5:30AM. That's 10-15 hours a day I'm not available to comment. I'll go for days at a time without reading your blog.

on this date in 1993 Intel's new Pentium processor was unveiled

"like reporting on every detail of Tesla without mentioning Elon Musk,"

That's a very, very strange analogy. Elon Musk is the founder and CEO of Tesla. Do you really see your role in downtown Bethesda as equivalent to that?

"There is a ban from the top"

Lol this just keeps getting better. Dyer should write a book about all his conspiracy theories about how the Post, Planning Board, Bethesda Mag, County Council, the General Assembly, Developers, Hans Riemer, Clinton and Obama are all out to get him and stubbornly refuse to recognize his greatness.

"graduated Cum Laude"

Reeeeallly? Which school?

Robert Dyer is a retromingent varmint.

Tim said...

It's childish and deeply embarrassing to the writers who plagiarize Dyer and don't credit his scoops. They're the ones who look bad, not Dyer.

It's not hard for them to credit Dyer. I have no idea why they won't. My assumption is it's a political thing.

???????????

Please Robert, just seek help for your self-delusion.

11:23 Dyer has a joke BS from UMD in something like latin america studies. surprising since he seems to understand so little about immigration issues.

Dyer, if this is a campaign-style blog - as some readers claim it is...I would recommend you stop writing stories. It looks from a quick skim of the comments that either your politics or personality aren't popular with Bethesda readers. I'm new to the blog and Bethesda...so please don't threaten libel...just letting you know what I deduce based soley on a cursory viewing of the comments.
