A convoy of trucks and vans lined up in front of 7900 Wisconsin Avenue yesterday, as the contents of the shuttered Fitness First was unloaded into them. 7900 Wisconsin is being demolished to make way for The JBG Companies' 7900 Wisconsin project, expected to be anchored by a Trader Joe's grocery store. Disappointed the Aldon Management cones didn't make an appearance.

"Aldon Management cones" lol Robert you are too funny sometimes. That is an old school inside joke only a few will understand.
See! This IS a blog FOR a group of friends BY a group of friends.
You had to figure it was with all the inside jokes, inside stories, mentions of all these people the rest of us don't understand, but you never quite knew...
If y'all had just said something, I'd have butted out a long time ago. Sorry, folks.
Ta!
@7:49AM this is 5:13AM....I have zero connection to Robert Dyer. I am just a lifelong resident of Bethesda. The joke is almost anytime work would be done around Woodmont and Battery or Woodmont and Cordell there would be cones out that say "Aldon Management" even if the work didn't even concern Aldon as a company. If you didn't know, Aldon Management owns the 8200 Wisconsin building plus a few buildings on Bradley and Battery.
Thank you 8:44AM. I know Aldon Mgmt, did not know about the cones. That IS funny.
I'm always having to lookup things and people mentioned here and mostly I find out who they are but don't get what reference means(usually a slam or insult.) Especially the people--.
Thanks for being kind and answering.
