Snack bar reopens at Bethesda Pool

I have an update on the snack bar situation at the Bethesda Pool on Little Falls Parkway. On Friday, I reported that a new vendor was being brought in, after the most recent one quit due to lack of profits.

As of Friday, the new vendor was in the process of getting the necessary permits and inspections to open the snack bar, and hoped to open before the season was over.

Good news: This morning, Montgomery County Department of Recreation Director Gabriel Albornoz reports that the new vendor began serving food and beverages over the weekend.

Sounds like you didn't bother to check the status on Saturday or Sunday.

7:09: Why would I? They said Friday the target reopening was "before the end of the season," not anytime soon. Unlike you, I didn't have unlimited free time over the weekend.

how does the Pulitzer prize work? Can I just link them directly to this blog story or is there a more formal nomination process?

That snack bar was probably reopened by the time that Robert Dyer reported that they were closed (Saturday July 15 11:03 AM EDT). They should sue Dyer for lost business, like Kaldi's and Sakura.

7:41am too late to submit your f*** ton o' mayo story :)

Is 8:33 making some kind of angry insult against 7:41AM? Is this blog a group of friends ribbing each other and railing on outsiders? Did you grow up or go to school together?

Ever notice that Robert staggers his news? Finds something out at night, writes it then, uploads it the next day to feed our hungry mouths.

8:24: This very article was published minutes after I received the news from the County. In other cases, why would you publish a non-breaking news story at night when traffic is low?

That's legacy media thinking. News cycle is virtually obsolete.
