Apple Store closed Saturday for "unforeseeable circumstances" at Montgomery Mall (Photos)

The Apple Store at Westfleld Montgomery Mall in Bethesda was mysteriously closed yesterday. A sign posted did not explain why the store had to close for the day, simply attributing it to unnamed, "unforeseeable circumstances." There was a partial power outage at the mall on Friday, but the store did not cite this as the reason, and the empty store had electricity yesterday. All other businesses at the mall were open Saturday.

The Day the Montgomery Mall Apple Store Didn't Open.
Big tragedy for Bethesdans. Maybe the Microsoft store did some extra business?

Apple really needs to open stores in Gaithersburg/Germantown and Silver Spring.

What did they say when you asked them today? (Sunday)
If anyone asks and finds out, let us on here know! :)

I'm sure it's something logical or understandable and not nefarious.

8:17 dropped one hell of a hint.

They are ditching Moribund MoCo Mall for Fredericksburg, er, DTSS. You know, the area that Robert Dyer doesn't cover on his EastMoCo blog.

I heard the store manager is a big Robert Dyer fan and closed to protest Montgomery County's moribund business climate in an act of solidarity and to give Robert Dyer a reason to leave the basement on Sunday afternoon #resistance

I asked yesterday. They had trouble after the power outage with getting their servers and systems up and working.

Tuesday and they were still catching up from being closed Saturday.
