The developer, whose headquarters is directly across the street, promises the unnamed eatery will be your "new favorite." Last time the company made such a promise, they delivered World of Beer on Bethesda Avenue.

Where's your usual #ArgleBargle about "the rich are fleeing Montgomery County", that accompanies every other article about Friendship Heights?
Odd that you didn’t mention that JBG Smith, the largest Commercial and Residential developer in the DMV, is building a new 15 story high office ar 4747 Bethesda Avenue, and will be moving it’s HQ there once is completed around Q3 2019, You could have reported that the new high rise is reported to be already 71% leased. You could have also reported that the new building will include a 7000 SF Retail/Restaurant space on Bethesda Avenue. But thanks for reporting about a vacant space in Freindship Heights. I hope they can find a great tenant.

Your article seemed to cast a negative light on their “plans”. You seemed to discount their active marketing efforts and pre-announcement as somehow being mis-advertised and not really “exciting” or “your new favorite”. My suggestion to you was to describe their exciting new home under construction in Bethesda, their 71% lease rate for a building under early construction, and was intended to be a positive and constructive report instead of your contact to diparaging comments. I thought that their plan to include a similar large tenant in their new building as would be a positive item to report to your readers, and less sarcastic.
You seem to revel in negativity, instead of giving credit where it is due.
I'm really not trying to be a troll, but I'm just trying to give you some ideas to create a more useful blog and improve your product. Maybe shift your focus from dissing the local planning and government folks at every turn, and maybe try to offer more positive ideas to shape our community. I for one fully appreciate your efforts and reportage. Just trying to offer a bit of constructive criticism.

See "Westbard" example. And local officials have been pushing to build a parking garage on top of African American cemetery.
The Bethesda community, including Dyer, have been standing up against this. This is the only Council and Planning Board that has Bethesda residents protesting in the streets against them. This Council and Planning Board are not normal. We can't normalize their behavior.

There's plenty of positive news to report, plenty of positive stories in the last week.
But real news coverage means exposing and holding our County officials accountable, something the other local media outlets don't do. That's why so many people turn to my Suburban News Network sites to find out what's really going on in Montgomery County. Not the official propaganda version.
Then you have something like Greater Greater Washington, stealth-funded by development interests, claiming to be journalism...while the not-surprisingly-wealthy GGW owner pretends I don't exist, when listing local media outlets.

Meanwhile the Suburban News Network fails to acknowledge that its Tower Co’s and Hilton posts are sponsored content, as evidenced by the closure of the comments sections. Not so stealth at all, actually!
5:16: You could be sued for defamation, as none of the posts you mentioned were sponsored content. I've sold two ads, and both were clearly labeled as sponsored content. I haven't gotten a dime from either company you mentioned.
Why close comments then? What makes it different from your other stories where comments are allowed?

This sign has been up since the day Panera closed, which was...what, end of September or something. This isn't exactly news, unless you know what's going in either that space, or whatever might occupy the shop next to it (formerly that running gear store.)
4:53: I don't know when the sign was put up, but it's obviously something readers would like to know about. I have never seen this reported anywhere else.
@RobertDyer I can tell you the sign's been up since the closing of Panera itself, back in September. I reside in the immediate vicinity, and they wrap the space with those signs as soon as anything closes, honestly. Both that and the running store (next to Panera) received the same unceremonious treatment-sort of hustled out, then the windows were immediately festooned with what appeared to be the same stuff you'd use to wrap a vehicle (for advertising purposes.) No word locally as to what might go into either space, though, nor into any of the vacant spaces in Tiffany Row, either (another block that handles closures similarly.)
