Home behind Rosedale Park apartments coming down (Photos)

Demolition of the single-family home behind the Rosedale Park apartments is underway. A 1933 home that had been used as an office space, 4712 Rosedale Avenue was put on the market over two years ago for $1.5 million. The purchaser has obviously decided to redevelop the property, as this photo attests. Here's a picture of the house before the knockdown started:

"They're also hiring - some on the Montgomery County Council may want to pick up an application."

Hey, Dyer, how about YOU get a job?

6:24am Dyer is holding elected officials accountable. That's journalism 101.

7:11 AM Dyer doesn't post every comment here. You've claimed I'm Dyer before.
Sorry to disrupt your idea that every comment not attacking Dyer must be Dyer.

7:11 didn't claim that "Dyer posted every comment here".

"Journalism 101" gave you away, you little coward.

7:33 AM wow...switch to decaf.
Already attacking folks on a local news site.

You really call this this "holding elected officials accountable"?

It cracks me up that people who clearly spend time reading this blog everyday hate on Dyer for writing it.

""They're also hiring - some on the Montgomery County Council may want to pick up an application."

Yep, that's "local news" that "holds local officials accountable", straight out of "Journalism 101".

8:04 AM We get it- you prefer the Patch style of local reporting- cozy with elected officials to maintain good relationships. Good for you there are other sites that offer that style. If you want to turn your brain on, come back here.

8:05 AM Dyer is widely read in Bethesda. You posting multiple weird comments here each day doesn't represent his readership. Sorry, it just doesn't.

8:09 - Who is "we"? LOL

"Dyer is widely read in Bethesda."

Funny, the only place I've seen that claim is...on Dyer's blog.

8:15 AM Get outside, actually talk to folks. Dyer has wide readership in Bethesda.

8:14 AM "We" are the rest of Dyer's readers who find your rambling comments to be bizarre.

Hearsay Anecdote /= "Data"

8:20 - I don't think you understand what the word "rambling" actually means.

THIS is an example of a "rambling comment":

"We get it- you prefer the Patch style of local reporting- cozy with elected officials to maintain good relationships. Good for you there are other sites that offer that style. If you want to turn your brain on, come back here. Dyer is widely read in Bethesda. You posting multiple weird comments here each day doesn't represent his readership. Sorry, it just doesn't."

Which raises the question - when was the last time that Dyer actually talked to an elected official?

8:35 AM You admit you have time every day of the week to spend here, reading and posting multiple comments a day on a site you say is terrible, written by a man you "detest". Sounds like you're the buffoon.

Stop projecting your insecurities and anger on everyone else. It is you that has the problem.

Anonymous said...

"It is you that has the problem."

You is ungrammatical.

I think this used to be Bethesda Systems?

8:09 - what is the "Patch style of reporting?" How come all these dyersheep defend him on everything and bring up weird comparisons and accusations that...usually don't make sense to us readers. Like we're thinking about Patch, or why we would.

On the plus side, Randy is new name in 2018. Like I asked for. Thanks!

9:00 AM do your homework, like you should have on the tax law :)

Anna said...

Honey, don't worry about me, worry about your tax accountant. You have NO idea how much time I've spent so far on the tax act. Hint, it's a lot.

I thought they wanted to simplify?
Nope. The new tax law is a marvel of complexity.

There's a few Technical Corrections needed, but any time something is passed so quickly without review, there'll be unintended consequences, head-scratchers and complete contradictions.

But what about you, 9:22? Shouldn't you be working?

9:40 AM Dyer is a well established community activist and news publisher.
Please introduce yourself now.

Anna said...

9:42AM - You first.
Waiting...

"Dyer is a well established community activist and news publisher."

Can I find this stated anywhere else than the "About Us" page of Dyer's self-published blog?

Anna said...

9:42AM - still waiting...
sheesh, it only took you 2 minutes to call out 9:40. And now--suddenly---you're all shy?

This property is a bellwether for the creeping tide of development in East Bethesda. It was sold for $1,350,000 in Feb 2016, zoned Commercial. (Source: County records.) It's 4,800 sf. Assuming the value is all in the land, this is about twice as much as it would sell for if it were zoned residential rather than commercial.
