Paladar has closed in the North Bethesda Market building, according to an email from the restaurant. Their Tysons and Gaithersburg locations remain open. They said the structure and layout of their space, and "building issues" in recent months, were to blame at the North Bethesda location.

Red line derailment this morning outside Farragut North. I'd guess the investigation will impact tomorrow morning's commute, at the very least.
I’ve eaten at this place a number of times and it always felt empty.
The square footage was way too large and it felt like a giant cafeteria hall. They could have gotten by with half of the space.
The North Bethesda Market complex has lost many of it's original tenants and has not replace them. Has Pike and Rose caused the decline?
Wow about Safeway. I was there yesterday and it was so awful I swore I'd never go again. Little did I know.
8:11 PM How was it awful? Always seemed fine to me.
If only JBG would get off their asses and actually complete a redevelopment project in less than a decade.
The North Bethesda Market complex is, at present, very unattractive. Across the street from a bombed out plot of land that was once White Flint mall and barely walkable from any housing units other than a few high rises. Almost no visibility from Rockville Pike. This might all change when (if) all the planned development is complete. For now, it's a dead zone. Folks will drive for Whole Foods - nothing else.
The County remains in denial as to how much folks hate driving on Rockville Pike.
Major bummer. Loved Paladar, the place always had a good turnout I thought. Very large space, though.
As far as losing original tenants- Have others been lost besides this and Brio??
Nature runs a restuarant called Karma. It's a place where there is no need to place any order. You are automatically served what you deserve.
Wish you wrote this blog, Anna. Have you ever considered partnering up with the guy that screen shots or copies the threats - real or figurative (bodyslamming, punching people in the face, etc) and name calling that Robert makes? Could make for a comedic blog.
12:54 PM I'd recommend studying Maryland law on harassment and defamation before launching such a blog.
Come on Clyde's... Move into either the old Brio or the Paladar location.
