It's a beautiful showroom, but they should have made a wider elevated outdoor patio setback to enable them to park cars outside the structure along Arlington Road. This would have captured a lot of eyeballs for pedestrians passing by.... or at least they could have put the cars by the windows along Arlington Road now. Unfortunately frontage windows along Arlington Road show a mess of desks, office equipment and paper up against the windows. Hopefully they fix this because it looks terrible and defeats the entire purpose of having the windows there. You can't see the cars in the showroom from the street. Huge design mistake.
In response to Anonymous' post. We are definitely in agreement that the frontage windows look messy but the good news is it is temporary. We are still in the midst of construction on another part of our showroom (visible from Bethesda Avenue) that when finished will contain all those desks and office equipment. Then the Arlington road side will be clear of clutter and according to design displaying our beautiful cars as intended.
The desks on Arlington are temporary, until they remodel the buildings on Bethesda. They will then move cars into that location. I agree the space on Arlington is weird. To narrow to put cars. I think they were required to match the original footprint, as this was considered a remodeling, and not new construction. I believe that’s how they avoided the need to get Sketch, Preliminary and Site Plan approval through the planning department, just a remodeling permit. Seems like a loophole to me.
@Euro Motorcars Bethesda: Thanks for responding to my comment! I'm glad to hear it's temporary. The new showroom looks great and the having the cars visible from Arlington Road will generate a lot of pedestrian interest.
