Ensemble has closed at 4856 Cordell Avenue in Bethesda. Signage has been removed, and the interior is intact, but looking deserted. The ghost kitchen featured menu items from several restaurants of the Catalogue hospitality group.
Ensemble opened in 2021, and was well-targeted to the pandemic-era focus on takeout and delivery orders. Perhaps the COVID-is-over attitude fully brought back indoor dining this spring and summer, and demand had dropped. Items from Honeymoon Chicken and Federalist Pig can still be ordered online for delivery to Bethesda, according to the company.

How long do folks think it's gonna be until that county lot and this building are combined into yet another giant, multi-use building? Not long. No character left in Woodmont Triangle. Heck, Bethesda Row (100 % new from years ago) has more charm.
Maybe that's what happened. I didn't see the advantage I can pay somebody to go anywhere to get my food. Bethesda is full of regular kitchens to support.
7:27am agreed. Woodmont Triangle is supposed to be an urban village, not home of just residential high-rises that end up becoming short term rentals/hotel rooms.
Ensemble was overpriced for what they served. With the number of fitness businesses nearby, the space is the right size for a juice bar or similar business, if they can get enough margin to afford the rent.
As someone who lived in high-rises in Woodmont Triangle for 8 years, it definitely felt like my urban village. Empty lots and businesses that get shuttered due to sky-high commercial rents hurt quality of life there more than additional housing. More residents = more cool stuff in town!
