Bethesda Shell station demolition complete (Photos)

Scene from the final hours
of the Food Mart Monday
Now you see it.

Now you don't.

24 hours made all the difference - the final 24 hours of the convenience store structure at the Bethesda Shell station, which was the last structure to fall on the site. Tuesday afternoon, workers were digging deep into the soil and the structure was no more. The site is being cleared for a TD Bank branch building.

#RethinkTDBank

What a waste

No more fumes, no more stream and groundwater contamination, no more bums looking to buy candy and cigarettes. But still, it could have been put to much better use.

I'll take the dirt pit over the TD Bank.

Agree with 8:45am. A gas station was a terrible waste of valuable space, and a TD Bank is undeniably an upgrade, but they could have done a lot more (although they might have needed more land)
