Power outage in west Bethesda overnight

People waking up to flashing alarm clocks in west Bethesda this morning know there was a power outage overnight. Power went out in parts of the the River Road/Massachusetts Avenue corridor near Goldsboro Road for about an hour after 3:00 AM, before being restored by Pepco. Traffic signals and streetlights along River Road were also affected. There was no storm, extreme temperatures or wind at the time. Pepco has made no statement as to the cause of the outage.

Good thing a local blogger was burning the midnight oil to get a picture of 8200 Wisconsin Avenue to catch this!

This power outage appears to have been widespread. By that I mean over several eastern seaboard states today.

7:33 - Westbard is the Center of the Universe. If it didn't happen there, it didn't happen.

5:36: Why would you even write it? "Stock photo." What's the point?

Because you should note that it's a stock photo --- and not one representing the current incident.
