The permanent sign has been installed over the lobby entrance canopy of JBG Smith's 8001 Woodmont development at 7900 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda. True to the branding, this entrance is most-visible from Woodmont Avenue. As you can see in some of the photos below, a modern art sculpture installation of floating, illuminated rings is visible in what appears to be the main lobby.

Looks like it will be three years of construction at least. They need to get a better construction firm. The Edgemont II, for example, is catching up to them and construction started in late 2019.
7900 Wisconsin/8001 Woodmont highlights from your archives:
Dec 2017 - Old 7900 Wisconsin is demolished
May 2018 - Cranes are erected for construction
Dec 2018 - Concrete pour
Aug 2019 - Close to topping out
Apr 2020 - Amendments filed to decrease public use space, number of units and parking spaces
There must have been some contractor dispute or lawsuit, as construction virtually stopped for several months, and even now is very slow to finish. I wonder if Amazon is watching how JBG Smith delivers this project with a bit of concern.
