At the same time, I just received word that the first dining tenant signed at the Carr Properties development, Tatte Bakery & Cafe, plans to open in February. I just don't know what new food service operators are seeing at this time. There's virtually no one in Bethesda and there are definitely no people in the office buildings. Eventually, sure, these places may do well but that could literally take years for this local economy to come back. So how in the heck does a new bakery expect to generate enough sales M-S and all day to afford rent or even make a little profit?
I can't get over how nice this building looks, especially at night. Straight out of a world-class city.
