After declining several invitations to debate Republican Dan Cox, Democrat Wes Moore has accepted an invite extended to both Maryland gubernatorial candidates from WBAL and Maryland Public Television. The debate is scheduled to take place on October 12, 2022 at 7:00 PM. It will be broadcast live on WBAL NewsRadio 1090 and FM 101.5, WBAL-TV 11 in Baltimore, Maryland Public Television statewide, and on NBC4 in the Washington, D.C. area.
Unless Moore agrees to further debates, this will be a high pressure forum, particularly for Cox. With far less broadcast advertising money than Moore has at his disposal, this will be a key opportunity for Cox to speak to a substantial TV and radio audience of likely voters. Cox is also in a rare scenario where the current governor of his own party affiliation - Larry Hogan - is refusing to help him in any way, due to Hogan's ongoing feud with Donald Trump. Trump endorsed Cox over Hogan's choice of Kelly Schulz in the GOP primary.
"I look forward to the opportunity this October to contrast my vision and values with Dan Cox’s far-right agenda,” Moore said in a statement. “I am glad Wes Moore has finally accepted an invitation to debate with me," Cox said in his own statement this morning. "So far, he has refused or declined to respond to several requests, including those from Morgan State University and the Maryland Federation of NARFE (National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association). I would like to thank MPT and WBAL for this opportunity. I look forward to letting the voters of Maryland see the candidates live, in person and unfiltered."

Will there be a mute button? Hope not. Folks have learned that the key to winning a political debate is to be the loudest in talking over your opponent. That's how you make America great.
Hogan is putting his hatred of populist Republicans over what's best for Maryland. His non-endorsement is one of the best reasons to vote for Cox. So are policies that would help, not hurt the state. Dems have been a disaster since Biden was "elected". Vote for Dan Cox.
So Cox is going to participate in a Bolshevik controlled forum. He is truly entering foreign territory here. Remember Trump's debate against Chris, where Biden was a confused bystander?
A few tips for Cox. Stand your ground. Don't agree with anything the other candidate says, except in the vaguest sense of wanting to help people, do the right thing, etc. Examine Moore's background and look for weakness and mistakes. Believe me, he'll be doing that with you. Bolsheviks are very good at that. If there's anything in your past you think they'll weaponize, be prepared. Don't waver on the 2nd amendment. Bring up the Bolshevik inspired riots of a few years ago, and contrast the looting and burning with the relatively mild Jan 6, if the subject comes up at all. Bring up the huge increase in crime, and hint at the causes. We all know you can't explicitly state the causes.
And always remember: The Bolsheviks are ruthless and corrupt. At the debate, do not be afraid to call out the moderators for any bias.
Hogan refusing to endorse a Trumpy, “election was stolen” candidate makes a ton of sense. I would hope that members of both parties would reject the extremists that happen to share the same political affiliation.
