The Organic Butcher of Bethesda to open in late 2022

The Organic Butcher of Bethesda
, opening in late 2022 at 7925 Old Georgetown Road in downtown Bethesda, will be a new venture from the owner of The Organic Butcher of McLean, Donald Roden. Like the original shop, the Bethesda location will be an Old World-inspired, upscale enterprise with knowledgable and experienced butchers behind the counter. Along with fine meats free of antibiotics and hormones, patrons will also find a selection of seafood, fine wines and cheeses, and grocery items like eggs, bread, produce and condiments.

Featured suppliers for The Organic Butcher's current McLean shop include Autumn Olive Farms and the Tuscarora Organic Growers Cooperative. Hours of operation in Bethesda will be 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday - Saturday, and 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Sundays.

The space The Organic Butcher is taking over was for many years home to Le Vieux Logis. After the French restaurant bid adieu, the building was transformed by the local architecture firm of Steven J. Karr, AIA, Inc., with the facade now sporting large windows more appropriate for retail use. The update was clearly successful in drawing a very upscale tenant with name recognition.

So they will have a parking lot?

I know their original location well . Thanks for the update, I've been wondering. Area folks would be wise to shop there. They know what they're doing number one. Number two, their meats and other products are top flight quality.

Looks great. I wish them luck. I do wish that a Balducci's would open up where the Old Georgetown Road Safeway used to be. Last I heard that location is still looking for a tenant. I'm surprised that it hasn't been filled yet given all the new development around it.

I didn't remember a lot there, but Google Maps does show some ground-level parking. Only fifty yards away is a large pubic garage that is currently under-utilized.

Tuscarora Organic Growers Co-op has been out of business for several years.

2:15 - Balducci would never do that because of two reasons. One is, they are essentially out of business and have very few stores left in the country even the NYC flagship has long closed. And two, they already have a location on Old Georgetown Rd that does well. Moving would hurt them, zero parking. Their existing has tons of free parking.

Now this is something I can use. It's great to have these types of specialty store in Bethesda especially one I can walk to!!! It maybe tough in the current economy though.
