Bethesda Boards applies for liquor license from Montgomery County

Bethesda Boards
, the skateboard shop and event space at 7900 Woodmont Avenue in downtown Bethesda, is seeking the ability to serve beer and wine. It has applied for a liquor license from Montgomery County. A hearing on the license request has been scheduled for September 21, 2023 at 10:00 AM. Terrapin Bicycles, also located in the Woodmont Triangle neighborhood, last year became the first bike shop in Montgomery County to receive a liquor license. Perhaps Bethesda Boards will be the first skate shop to do so.

Some how skate boarding and liquor do not seem compatible.

That sounds like a joke, but apparently, sadly, it's not.
Skateboarders, including in Veterans Park, right outside Bethesda Boards' front door, are dangerous enough, to themselves and others, as it is.

Interesting and kinda sad too thar the county even considers this. Seems uncharacteristic since by many other standards, particularly how MC controls alcohol sales via restaurants, are rather 1940's ish Blue law remnants.

You all ought to do a little more thinking before commenting. The skaters in Veteran's Park are usually under 21. The beer and wine will not be for them, and you can be sure the powers that be will keep a close eye on this place to make sure of it. Perhaps Robert could pay a visit to Bethesda Boards and ask what their plans are 9and they do have plans).

Oh, please, 9:01.
Isn't this the same blog on which people are continually complaining that there isn't enough (at least, visible) police presence in this area?
Whether or not that's true, do you really think that "the powers that be" will be devoting a lot of attention to. much less "keeping a close eye on," skateboarders, given the much more serious situations that this blog repeatedly reports on (and probably very many situations and potential situations that have not been reported on?

Karre, the owner, is struggling to keep the doors open. He's hoping this brings in extra income. It is not meant for the skate boarders. He also has bands from time to time

It will also be a music venue which is needed in this area.

Just what sort of music do you think they'll host?
