Bethesda Lane may soon have a new look after dark. Bethesda Row property owner Federal Realty is installing new lighting along the pedestrian street. Signs posted around the work areas promise "improved lighting for selfies" when the job is finished. Bethesda Lane is one of the top selfie locations in Montgomery County for locals and tourists alike.

Probably being done to reduce crime but they are spinning it as a selfie thing.
Interesting observation....it's also interesting that the Metro peeps are putting Bethesda on the list of the first 10 stations to get the new 45 million dollar turnstile 'upgrades.' What are they anticipating?
The new anti-jump turnstiles have been installed at the Bethesda station.

The spot where much brighter lighting is really needed is at the Bethesda "Christmas Card" selfie booth location near the skillfully carved ice sculptures during the holidays.
