VIBRATION MONITORING DEVICES NEAR 8300 WISCONSIN AVENUE CONSTRUCTION SITE (PHOTOS)

Blasting at the 8300 Wisconsin Avenue construction site is being monitored for vibration levels on adjacent properties. Devices such as the one pictured below are on nearby properties, such as the Sunoco station and a Battery Lane apartment complex.

8300 Wisconsin Avenue is a mixed-use, luxury apartment building, and will contain a Harris Teeter grocery store.

Such monitoring was stipulated as a condition for the approval of blasting during excavation.

These devices will detect levels of vibration that exceed those considered to be damaging to nearby structures.
