Jaleo closed for renovations at Bethesda Row (Photos)
Jaleo Bethesda closed for renovations yesterday, and says it is scheduled to reopen April 21. It will be interesting to see what changes Chef José Andrés and his Think Food Group have in store for the restaurant. You may recall that it was renovated only about 18 months ago, closing for only a week that time. Those needing their tapas can head to other Jaleo locations in the District or Crystal City - or try other recommended nearby Spanish restaurants in downtown Bethesda: Guardado's or 100 Montaditos.

You're right, Jaleo and the rest of the Row closes at dusk. Everyone is escorted off Woodmont Avenue after 5pm until the next morning.
If Hans Riemer's Nighttime Economy is so bad, then why doesn't Dyer try to make a living in the daytime?
I wonder what's going on that they are doing another renovation so soon? Dyer, do you think you could inquire and let us know? We would appreciate it. Thanks!
This is not trolling, but I genuinely wonder why Robert can't get authorized pics during the daylight hours and instead sneaks about town like a thief in the night.
I think it's suspicious they're doing another renovation after 18 months.
The guy who owns the restaurant group is a very smart restaurateur, so I think this may be more than just a simple renovation. Maybe they are going to change the concept? The tapas concept is getting a bit old, even if their food quality remains high.
That's what I'm thinking. Being closed for several weeks is a major overhaul.
7:06: Translation: I scooped everybody on the Jaleo story and you're upset. Nobody else is complaining about the hyperlocal coverage of Bethesda.
6:32: Hans Riemer's nighttime economy is so bad that a record number of Bethesda nightspots closed after he implemented his initiative. Hard for any business owner to make a living with inept Wall Street-funded councilmembers like Riemer.
