PassionFish posts Coming Soon signage at The Darcy (Photos)

One of the most-anticipated restaurant arrivals in downtown Bethesda is Jeff Tunks' newest outpost of PassionFish. To be located in the ground floor of the Darcy condos, the restaurant promises to draw seafood lovers in Bethesda and beyond. Currently, one has to head to Reston to sample the PassionFish menu. This will bring another seafood specialty restaurant to downtown Bethesda, which has lost Bish Thompson's, O'Donnell's and McCormick & Schmick's over the years.

It is? Have you done a poll of Bethesdans to confirm that they are anticipating this restaurant more than any other? Because I certainly haven't heard any buzz about this place among my fellow Bethesdans.

"Bethesda, which has lost Bish Thompson's..."

That's been gone for two decades now. The Millennials of Bethesda can't follow your senile babbling.

Everyone is welcome on Dyer's site. Millennials and everyone else.
Refreshing, isn't it?

Until he has a meltdown and deletes half the posts. "Welcoming", my flabby fanny.

@ 9:07 AM -

Too late. While Dyer was sleeping, he got scooped again.

@11:14am

LOL - it's been closed for a while so I was surprised that nobody was reporting anything... But sorry to see Panas go. I still have a gift card to use.

11:14: Hilarious comment, considering other sites were posting the stories I had early Tuesday later that day.

9:54: Bethesda residents of all ages are highly educated, and would understand my point about the lack of seafood restaurants in town.

Robert Dyer hates Blacks Bar & Kitchen, Mussel Bar & Grille, Luke's Lobster, Steamer, and Bethesda Crab House.

Also Chesapeake Bay Seafood House used to be in Bethesda. Went there when I was a kid.

1:51: No one said no seafood was available. What I said was, more seafood restaurants are welcome. None of the restaurants you mentioned are the same type and length of seafood menu as the ones I mentioned.

I know a lot of my friends and neighbors are looking forward to PassionFish. It'll be nice to have a quality seafood restaurant close by again.

I just heard from Silver they aren't even in the space yet and are being told fall, which means... Another Roof fall/winter opening debacle?

Spring and Summer openings would be ideal. Foot traffic really picks up on the Row then.

@ 5:06 PM - Hopefully they'll ditch this "Silver" foolishness and just open a Silver Diner.

It's Bethesda...a regular Silver Diner won't do, so we're getting an upscale version :)

Anyway, wouldn't another real diner threaten Tastee?

Go to Peter's Carryout! Best diner in Bethesda.
