Former Bruce Variety building cleared out again in Bethesda

The home of Bruce Variety in its final years is vacant again. An estate sale had been occupying the retail space at 8011 Woodmont Avenue in recent weeks. The structure is now all-white, after the side walls and lower facade were repainted in yellow and blue trim by Bruce Variety.

I have just sent an email to my contact at Bliss Spa. They need to seriously consider opening up in this location. They would be an asset to our community. Don't get me wrong, the spa at Equinox is lovely, but I hate having to wait until an NYC trip comes around to sample Bliss' new products.

Is Equinox the best gym in Bethesda?

It would be great if Fitness First closed down so that JBG could get on with 7900 Wisconsin Ave high-rise and the Trader Joes.

@7:23 Absolutely. Equinox is fantastic. From the product line to the spa to the classes to the staff to the facilities. The best gym I have ever belonged to in my life.

Won't be any of these things. Property already planned to be part of a large multi-use building that will include one of the other last remaining houses, the beer store on the corner plus the open air parking lot. Done.

Hey Poppy - do you feel like you live a fulfilled and purposeful life just prancing around Bethesda supporting all the high end retail while spending your husbands money? Have you ever made a dollar in your life or do you consider your "Progressive Bethesda" blog a full time job? You're literally the scum of the Earth. Don't let it hit ya where the good Lord split ya...

Tear it down. An eyesore.

@8:45 I normally don't respond to comments like yours, but I feel that I must in this case, if not for myself then for all Bethesda women.

My husband and I are married. Our money is our money. There is no his money.

Right after we finished Princeton, my husband and I decided that a family was a priority for us. My full time job has been raising our lovely daughter and twin sons all the while managing a busy household with two full time employees and a half dozen contract workers. I am very proud of what I have accomplished.

Why are you even engaging with this fictional character called "Poppy?"

Let's ALL have fake personas! Who's making the sign-up page? Can we pick avatars? Do we need writers?

The building isn't being demolished immediately...it was up for lease recently.

Princeton? Psh, that's bottom of the barrel when it comes to Ivy League schools. I thought you were better than that, hoe.

10:03AM - that's "heaux" in fancy-talk. Haha

The Trump Campaign could use a MD office.

"Hoe"? That reminds me of Dan Quayle and his infamous "potatoe". Singular is "ho", fercrissakes.

2:30 I wish those guys get invited to all the cool parties. One thing to note; our daily assignments are signed by "H.R." I do not know if that means anything.
