Bethesda restaurant named best in Maryland by Southern Living

One of Bethesda's newer restaurants has just been named the best in Maryland - by no less than Southern Living magazine. Duck Duck Goose just received the honor on the magazine's The Best Restaurants in Every Southern State 2017 list. The French restaurant is just one of the ventures of chef-owner Ashish Alfred in downtown Bethesda. Duck Duck Goose is located at 7929 Norfolk Avenue.

Congratulations to Duck Duck Goose.

Sadly, my visit to DDG (relatively shortly after it opened) was not award-worthy. Extremely cramped tables, blasting music (at an uncrowded hour when the bar wasn't in use), and mixed reviews on the food-- some delicious, some misses.

Will consider trying DDG again, but *very* surprised at this award. My opinion (again, may revisit DDG and reconsider): many better restaurants within blocks, much less throughout Maryland.

I think this award is for real.

It's the Bethesda Magazine "editor's choice" you see around town that are paid for.
