Gets to a point where even upper class weigh the worth of a cake vs a tank of gas.
The place always seemed empty whenever I walked by it. Oh well. We'll see what's next.
They were not customer-friendly. Seemed really averse to just walking in and ordering a cake. Why have a storefront-style business then?
The "teriyaki" ice cream place on the same block was doing a 50% off Halloween sale today, adn they have 2 lockboxes on the door. I'm guessing they don't have much time left.
It was bought by new owners maybe 1 1/2 years ago & went downhill in both service & quality in my opinion.
Very sorry to hear. I was just going to place an order. The store's website does not mention the closing, so perhaps the business will continue as an online-only vendor?
Cakes by Leslie was bought by new owners or Teriyaki Ice cream?
@6:44 Is that a statement you're making or a question?
Good riddance honestly. Last time I went the cupcakes tasted like they had dumped soap in them. They may look pretty but the taste was awful.
I LOVED Cakes by Leslie in Bethesda Maryland! I especially enjoyed treating her business like a unique art museum. Each time I was in town, It brought me great joy looking at the creative and beautiful cakes in the display cabinets and on the pedestal tables by the windows. I wish I had photos of the small Elephant Cake or the large cake that looked like a Bushel of Crabs. I sincerely miss seeing all the beautiful & artistic creations that Leslie’s Cakes had on display.for all to see. I also loved looking and eating the breathtakingly beautiful cupcakes. Plus Leslie’s regular recipe and gluten free treats were divine! Sincerely, Jacqueline PS If anyone has photos of Leslie’s Cakes, please send them to me. I can only find a few online.
