Here's a look at the latest progress on Landmark Realty's Crescent at Chevy Chase apartments at 3929 Landmark Court at Chevy Chase Lake. Concrete work is 90% complete, framing is more than 50% finished, and new pre-leasing signage has been posted at the site. You can also see elevator shafts rising out of both buildings. Replacing WW2 era garden-style housing with 21st century housing like this should be a top priority for the county. The prior housing's density was far too low, the units were far too energy inefficient, and the old buildings with grandfathered-in code are literally blowing up an annual basis. As far as basic quality of life in the county, few actions are as important as updating our housing stock at all income levels.
