Popeyes "temporarily closed" at Montgomery Mall in Bethesda

Readers have been asking what is going on with the Popeyes in the Dining Terrace food court at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. Their stall has been closed during normal operating hours for at least a week. According to the restaurant locator page on the Popeyes website, this location is "temporarily closed," with no reason given for the closure. Last evening, during Popeyes' operating hours, they were closed again. However, nothing had been removed inside their space, and the menu boards were still operating.

Thanks Robert for your efforts at ferreting out the reasons for this closure. On occasion I've inquired at the mall concierge desk as to why they were closed on a few Saturdays, and even they didn't know, which was puzzling to me. Perhaps they have had a few health code violations too many?

I doubt this is a HC violation. Too many eateries too close to each other for that to be true. I suspect it's a problem finding folks worth a darn to fry chicken for less than a living wage in Bethesda. It's not a pleasant job to work.

Maybe we could force prisoners to cook our chicken for us? We have plenty of prisoners.

Love me some biscuits, a jalapeno pepper, corn on-the-cob, and red beans & rice! As as Vegetarian, it's about all I can eat at that establishment.

Yes, indeed! I like the idea of forcing carjackers to fry Popeye's Chicken.
